Inspired by the real life story of a young lady in Mississippi, “Send in the Angels” is a song that speaks from pain and despair, while holding fragments of faith and hope.
The song found it’s genesis after Danica received a tearjerking letter from a friend and fan telling her heart breaking story. Feeling overwhelmed and touched by the story Danica and her writing partner Terry McIntyre wrote “Send in the Angels.”
It’s now been nearly a decade since they wrote the song, and a short time later when they recorded it in a small house in Nashville. And though the plan was to release it as a single, busy tour schedules and life managed to always get in the way. The song did finally manage to get a small honorary spot as a bonus track on Danica’s “The Best Of” album in 2012. But with Danica’s passion for this song still as strong as it was a decade ago, and an outpouring of fan's supporting the song - the time has come to give it - It’s rightful place.
After touring and performing nearly 3000 shows in the last 14 years, Danica is currently taking a break from the road and spending time at her home in Bainbridge Island, WA. It is with this new found time, rest and relaxation, she can concentrate on special projects like this.

He came home from work late again Angry like so many times before I covered my ears and fought back the tears I could still hear Momma screaming through the bedroom door Daddy he went crazy and threw Momma against the wall I knew she should be crying but I heard no sound at all
Send in the Angels, Please save us from him The Devils at our door, God don't let him in His anger is so strong, We can't take anymore I can't do it alone, Send in the Angels
I'm on my own all alone Scared like so many nights before Strung out on drugs down on my luck Can’t take the pain I’m ready to give up No where to turn, no one to care I'm running out of faith in this endless nightmare
Send in the Angels, I'm about to give in The Devil's at my door, God don't let him in The temptations so strong, I can't take anymore I can't do this alone, Send in the Angels I was on my feet feeling fine with love by my side When a twisted road and an angry rage took you from my life
I was back at the bottom feeling low Struggling like so many times before He came along and took my hand Helped make my life worth living for Now we're together and our futures looking bright And when I close my eyes I can finally sleep at night
Send in the Angels, I’m starting over again The Devils at our Door, God don't let him in I've been waiting so long, To find love again I can't do it alone, Send in the Angels
